For Immediate Release
DigitalEve Nova Scotia launches Web design initiative for non-profits and new Web site.
DigitalEve Nova Scotia, the local chapter of the international organization for women in IT, is launching a new initiative called Community Online DEsign (C.O.DE). C.O.DE offers free Web site design to non-profit organizations, while providing DigitalEve volunteers with valuable experience in the IT field. As its first project, C.O.DE re-designed DigitalEve Nova Scotia's Web site, which is set to go online April 5.
"Our goal with the C.O.DE initiative is two fold, " says Tracey Gant, Programmer/Analyst and Executive Director of DigitalEve Nova Scotia. "To provide our Web oriented members with the experience they need to find a job in today's competitive IT marketplace, and to provide the community with a valuable resource, free of charge, they would not otherwise be able to take advantage of."
The team, headed by Roula El-Diri, consists of 12 team members, and others are encouraged to join. Applications from non-profit organizations are being accepted to begin work on their next project. Interested organizations can contact C.O.DE at code@digitalevenovascotia.org.
